We are seeking to educate our community, and particularly men, about sexual assault and how to prevent it, teach men how to interact with and assist survivors of sexual assault, support campus or community organizations and groups that seek to raise awareness about sexual violence and how to prevent it, engage men in dialogue about how their status and privilege can be used to create positive change on both personal and community levels, and confront stereotypes surrounding men and issues of masculinity.

Sexual Assault & Relationship Violence (SARV) Prevention Program

Michigan State University, East Lansing

Incoming students are required to attend one two-hour workshop that will be facilitated by an undergraduate man and woman. The workshop will explore the definitions of sexual assault, rape, and relationship violence, and offer ways in which both men and women can become active bystanders in the prevention of sexual violence from occurring to themselves, their friends, and their peers.
