C.A.P.E.S Peer Education Program

The Sages Colleges, Albany/Troy

The mission of C.A.P.E.S Peer Education Program is to develop and implement a comprehensive and proactive peer education program which promotes low risk choices for students and community members and which reflects the attitudes, behaviors and values of The Sage College Wellness Center.   The CAPES Peer Education Program is also currently developing “Project Purple”, which is a peer lead organization with the single purpose of addressing sexual assault, rape, and gender violence here at The Sage Colleges.

Sexual Assault Care Center

Relationship violence is not limited to someone hitting you; violence occurs on many levels, including sexual, emotional and physical.   Services are free and confidential within the Wellness Center.   The Sexual Assault Care Center also has speakers available to present educational programming.

The Sexual Assault Resource Center (SARC)

The Sexual Assault Resource Center (SARC) was established as part of the University at Albany’s commitment towards ending sexual assault and relationship violence.

The Stop Abuse Against Women Project

SART (Sexual Assault Response Team)

The program is an information, education, advocacy, intervention and resource hub relating to all aspects of sexual violence at Binghamton University.

CARE (Campus Assault and Rape Education)

Fordham University, Bronx/NY/West Harrison

Educational programs include, but are not limited to, campuswide distribution of the CARE brochure; peer education workshops on topics that include the nature of sexual offenses and dating violence, keys to prevention and coping with the aftermath of an assault; safety and security presentations; residential life presentations; rape awareness programs; individual and group counseling; and other victim support services.

The UB Men’s Group is a rape and sexual assault prevention education program that provides training, presentations, and awareness raising events with a focus on cultivating men as allies in preventing sexual violence.

Anti-Violence Project (AVP)


The New York City Anti-Violence Project is dedicated to eliminating hate violence, sexual assault, stalking, and domestic violence in lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and HIV-affected communities through counseling, advocacy, organizing, and public education.

Black Male Initiative

A new initiative intended to increase, encourage, and support the inclusion and educational success of under-represented groups in higher education, in particular black males. GIP works to foster the healthy development of transgender and gender non-conforming people, partners, family and community. Stand Up Guys is about raising awareness and engaging “well intentioned” and “well meaning” men and women in the process of standing up and speaking out about men’s violence against women and children. It is our belief that while the vast majority of men are well intentioned and non-violent, the majority of perpetrators of sexual assault, domestic violence and child molestation are in fact men.
