Family Violence Program

Eagle Butte

Men, women, and children in crisis can call the toll-free line to seek information or request assistance from law enforcement to leave a dangerous situation.  Men who are victims of domestic violence, along with their children, are provided housing and receive the same support services provided to the residents of the shelter.

Men’s Re-Education Group (and Other Programs for Women and Children)

Lake Andes

A weekly men’s re-education group, also known as a Batterers Intervention Program (BIP), this class uses an interactive curriculum with a strong cultural focus to intervene with and prevent domestic violence.   These groups give men an opportunity to examine their roles and attitudes toward women and themselves. Discussion topics include: individual respect, fatherhood, and creating a future that is peaceful and nurturing for all.

U SaFety Program

University of Sioux Falls, Sioux Falls

With a focus on the crimes of stalking, sexual assault, & dating/domestic violence on campus, the underlying premise of the U•SaFety Program is educational awareness and personal risk reduction.

The South Dakota Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault (SDCADVSA) is dedicated to the reclamation of the respected, autonomous and safe status of women who have been battered/raped, and their children and therefore is committed to the elimination of personal and societal violence in the lives of women and their children.
